WASHINGTON, June 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The National Hispanic Health Alliance (Covenant) and the Healthy Americas Foundationtoday announced the Siemens Foundation as a national sponsor of the 2022 ¡Live your life! Rise! To move!® series of health and wellness events.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Siemens Foundation as we advance the mission of ¡Live your life! Rise! To move!® to provide important health services to Hispanic communities and help individuals lead healthier lifestyles,” said Dr. Jane DelgadoPresident and CEO of the National Hispanic Health Alliance, the nation’s leading Hispanic health advocacy group.
Now in its 16th year, ¡Long live your life! Rise! To move! is the nation’s largest annual event series promoting healthy lifestyles in Hispanic communities and has been attended by more than a quarter of a million people. Events include free health checkups, cooking demonstrations, health and wellness activities for the whole family, and referrals to community health services.
“Hispanic communities face a higher burden of chronic diseases, including cancer and diabetes, which can be helped by primary care visits and healthier lifestyle choices,” said Dave PacittiPresident, Siemens Medical Solutions UNITED STATES, Inc.; Head of Americas, Siemens Healthineers; and board member of the Siemens Foundation. “Reducing health disparities requires multi-faceted approaches and we are honored to work with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and the Healthy Americas Foundation at these health fairs to promote the health and well-being of the whole family.”
“Annual health checkups and early diagnosis are key to living a long and healthy life, and research shows us that Hispanic families are less likely to have a regular source of health care compared to other racial and ethnic groups. “, said David Etzwiler, CEO of the Siemens Foundation. “We are committed to advancing health equity by promoting primary health care, diagnostic screening, workforce training for the health sector, and capital loan support for community clinics.
